Going PLASTIC FREE

I CHALLENGE YOU: go to the store,to do your weekly shopping, and don’t buy nothing that is wrapped in plastic!

That should be your eye-opening challenge. When a lot of people, including myself, still in denial,do believe, that we clutter our planet with plastic, only when we buy a bottle of water!

Different kinds of plastic can degrade at different times, but the average time for a plastic bottle to completely degrade is at least 450 years. It can even take some bottles 1000 years to biodegrade! That’s a long time for even the smallest bottle.

Now that you are aware, hopefully, you’ll think twice on your next shopping trip.

For me,going plastic free,is a slow process.I’m not throwing stuff on a whim,I’ll just purchase better products in the future.

The most difficult part that I already noticed,is buying food.Everything that you see at a regular store,is wrapped in plastic. So I will have to find some stores, that do embrace plastic free practices, like buying in bulk, using your own glass jar,or a cloth bag,to buy and bring it home.

I’ve always have with me a cotton bag,so I don’t take any plastic bags from the store.I do take water with me in a reusable bottle.

I do understand is a slow process, and not a perfect one.But I’ve already started my journey in 2016,and I don’t plan to stop.

I can’t wait to share with you some tips, and fully inspire you.

Mentally prepared,Laura
