52°F and the flu season is been so far the worst, since the 2009 swine flu pandemic.
While some people are happy to have some warmer winter days, just be aware, viruses are too!
So what you can do to protect yourself?
Buy a humidifier.Cold temperatures lead to drier air, which may dehydrate mucous membranes, preventing the body from effectively defending against respiratory virus infections, so a humidifier might help.I personally prefer a warm mist, and I have 2 Honeywell humidifiers, that are super affordable too. Also drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
Eat foods that build immunity, such as yogurt, oatmeal, green tea, carrots, dark chocolate, garlic, broccoli, brussels sprouts, lean beef, chicken soup, mushrooms, sweet potatoes and fish.
Have a natural flu shot tonic made of:
8 fresh lemons
2 fresh oranges
2c pineapple juice
2tbs ground ginger
1tbs apple cider vinegar
1/2 tbs ground turmeric
1/2 cayenne powder
2 tbs raw honey
1 bulb garlic
Blend all ingredients and store in a glass jar.Take 1 cup 3 times/day
Diffuse antibacterial essential oils such as eucalyptus, lemon/lime,oregano,clove,lemongrass and/or tea tree.
Take a supplement, and I’ve recently discovered Immune Support,a unique combination of herbs and anti-oxidants that help maintain a balanced immune system.
Be active/exercise,take a walk outdoors, and stay away from sneezing people and indoors, where viruses are floating in the air.
Also try not to touch your face, since hands carry all the nasties.
Stay healthy
