Spring Break @ HOME #2

Last year I started a new personal trend, and that is, to celebrate Spreak Break @HOME.

From past experiences,I’ve realized, that yes, going to Florida is nice, but is not ideal this time of the year. Every time we ended up going in March, the water is not warm enough to swim in it, nor the weather as hot as we would like. So we ended up saving our cash, and take advantage of better weather in the summer, to be more adventurous.

So here I am, again, celebrating Spring Break @HOME.

So what exactly I do?

I definitely pretend to be on vacation.

I OVER SLEEP

Or at least I try. I go to bed the same time I usually do, and that’s 11PM for me,and I wake up whenever my body and brain wants.I usually set up an alarm at 7AM,so because I didn’t set up an alarm this week,I enjoyed between 20 to 40 extra minutes everyday. Do I look like I overslept? No,lol, but I’m sure that extra sleep has extra benefits.

I EAT SEAFOOD

So vacation for me usually means indulging in the foods I love, and for me is seafood.

I tend not to eat out to much, but I definitely filled my freezer with wild Salmon, Wild Cod and lots of shrimp. I was looking up today, and tomorrow I’ll make a seafood paella in my slow cooker (so let me guys know if you’d like the recipe)

I SMELL TROPICAL

Every summer when I sit by the pool,I remember people using suntan lotions smelling like coconut, mango and plumeria, so I try to smell like that, or at least close to that sweet tropical scent, that reminds me of the ocean. Even a candle helps with creating that mood.

SUNLESS TAN

Since there are natural options out there,I still sunless tan, and pretend I sat in the sun, but secretly I also pop a vitamin D,to al least mimic some sunbathing benefits.

ENJOY THE ME TIME

Do nothing, if that’s even possible. I definitely checked less my social media, and watch more Netflix. I’ve been currently watching some intriguing Korean Series (Black,Oh My Ghost,My Horrible Boss) but that’s not unusual for me, since I like the cultural differences.

ENJOY BEING OUTDOORS

And that had ups and downs, since the weather has been all week like crap, raining and windy, and let’s be serious, cold! So I’m trying to be outside more everyday, even that the weather wasn’t in my favor.

HAVE MY PLAYLIST ON REPEAT

Listening to my current favorite songs, always give me a calmness and a very good positive mood.

…and that’s all for now, who knows, maybe next spring break I won’t stay home.
