If you could wash your activewear less often , Would You?
Now there’s a new technology called Polygiene® that allows you to do that.
Washing and drying accounts for two thirds of the environmental impact of a product. Polygiene treated textiles do not need to be washed as often, which saves water, energy, time and money as well as improve the lifespan of a product. With Polygiene you can wear more, wash less and be climate smart!
Polygiene prevents the growth of odor-causing bacteria at the source. To do this Polygiene uses low concentrations of silver salt (silver chloride), which has antimicrobial properties. The treatment is applied at the finishing stages of textile production and field and lab tests show a high level of odor control beyond the usual lifespan of a garment. Polygiene silver salt technology is only active on the textiles itself. Polygiene is not nanosilver.
So this new technology is found in Organic Basics Ativewear Collection, plus the products are made from Recycled Nylon, and made ethically in Portugal.
SilverTech™ Active Workout Bra
Made from 89% recycled nylon and 11% elastane, and sizing ranges from XS-S to L-XL and it comes in 3 colors: Sea Blue, Burgundy or Black.
I ordered S-M Sea Blue and it fits true to size. The Bra is very comfortable, easy to pull on, and theres no pinching, pull, or anything to make me feel uncomfortable.
I could see myself using this from low impact workouts, to more intense.
The Bra is built in 2 layers, so is not transparent. Under the bust, it has a very comfortable elastic band built in, so it hem free, and also around the bust ,you can see it has more elastic details, to allow the Bra to expand and feel comfortable, no matter or your bust size.
You can’t adjust the straps on your shoulders, but no worries, there’s no pull there.
The only improvement is see personally for this bra, is to create inner pockets to add padding, or simply make them padded, since I don’t feel comfortable to wear it as is.
SilverTech™ Active Leggings
Made from 89% recycled nylon and 11% elastane, and sizing ranges from XS-S to L-XL and it comes in 3 colors: Sea Blue, Burgundy or Black.
I ordered S-M Sea Blue and,I was a little worried if I could pull these on at first, but I did.
I could probably say I’m a true Medium now on my lower body and if I would have gone a size up, the leggings would be a good fit on my waist. Because Size S-M felt to tight around my legs, they well pulling down from waist just by walking, so there’s not enough hold on the waist are, for me! I don’t truly believe I have much of a waist anyway, haha, but I would opt for a wider stretch material for the belly area, since I normally try to conceal, but also make sure the leggings won’t run down.
On the leg, the leggings have a beautiful perforated detail, which also helps your skin breathe during a workout. Even though is not a double layer construction, just like the breathe leggings are not see thru, so that’s a plus.
Couple of things that I would improve, is the triangle area between my legs, that is pretty big and looks weird when the leggings are on, since the seam show in the back, and the bottom seam around my ankles was to tight for me, and I don’t really have big ankles, no? 😉

Anyway, the new technology in these leggings blew me away, and also how these are made, from recycled materials and ethically, are definitely my goals for all my future fashion choices.
I don’t buy clothes at a whim anymore, since I know what impact the make in the world, from the materials, to the peoples sweat in them, so I plan to slowly switch all my gear into low impact, ethical and conscious choices only, that I can love, use and reuse, until they totally wear out. What stops you?
