Sometimes I remember how different were my shopping habits comparing in my 20’s comparing with my 30’s. I was definitely looking for a bargain, and I was shopping till I dropped, like a shopping marathon. Even though I wasn’t spending a fortune, I was still getting the guilt of spending the money in the end, not enjoying fully the items I purchased. And that feeling of guilt is still with me, and it probably won’t leave for the rest of my life.
I grew up with not having much, and basically I was never really went shopping much, so I didn’t learn how to deal with that feeling, truly, a feeling of joy, not guilt.
So yeah, I shop much less in my 30’s, and I rather focus on other things, and rather buy things that I need and have a meaning and purpose in my life.
But because Black Friday is basically just around the corner, so are temptations. So I always kinda make a plan, and I don’t shop few months ahead, in the anticipation of Black Friday, and there are plenty of deals to be had from popular department stores such as Macy’s!
In my 30’s, I do my research online first, rather than be surprised in the store.I like to know what kind of brands and products I’m looking for, rather than look just for a sale. Quality over quantity! I usually look up for words such as: recycled , organic cotton, eco-friendly.
And you will be very surprised to see that how people shop is changing, choosing biodegradable options, reducing plastic, or made with recycled plastic, nontoxic, coscious and ethically made.
That’s my goal.
So what’s in store now?
