So it’s finally here, a very affordable Organic Drugstore Foundation, that we all been expecting, but does one fits all?
Physicians Formula had an Organic Wear line before, that they totally revamped, and I did loved their Marathonista Foundation, but I think it only came in 2 shades, which was ridiculous, so their new Organic Wear Foundation has 12, from light to dark color skin tones, and it should definitely please a lot of people out there.
PHYSICIANS FORMULA Organic Wear Silk Foundation Elixir

Definitely a drugstore price, and probably the only Organic Foundation you will ever find currently in a drugstore. Not available yet at ULTA, but I’m assuming it wills you can definitely can catch a sale there, but right now is in stores at Walmart, and that’s where I got mine. CONTAINER
Frosted glass bottle, whith a glass dropper. I do like a dropper, because I can control how much product I apply.
SHADES
Finally 12 shades, from Fair to Rich, to match a very wide range of skin colors.
I use number 03 Light, and even thought that might look very light on my skin right now, will match me perfectly, after my summer tan will fade away.
WHAT IS
As described on their website and bottle:
“An ultra-nourishing, ultra-fluid, weightless, organic Foundation Elixir that improves the appearance of skin tone and texture while delivering a sheer-to-buildable coverage. Features Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Coconut Oil and Botanical Cactus Flower to lock in moisture, improve the appearance of skin tone and deliver a second-skin, airbrushed dewy finish.”
APPLICATION
I’ve tried different techniques, from fingers, a stipple brush and a beauty sponge.
Fingers did an OK job, and it was the best way not to waste any product.
The stipple brush left brush marks on my face every time it touched my face, so don’t use a brush!
The beauty sponge seemed to leave the skin in the best shape, but the sponge eats soooo much product, I had to keep adding drops, like 3 to 5 times to the sponge, then apply it on the skin.
So definitely apply the foundation on face with fingers first, then use a beauty sponge to achieve a flawless finish.
*using a beauty blender on help of my face
*I finished off the other side applying with fingers
COVERAGE
The foundation is very light, my skin color is peeking thru, and I definitely can see all my imperfections: sun spots, pores, fine lines.
I also tried to set it up with a powder, but after 30 minutes or so, oils are peaking thru, and leaves the skin very dewy.
The coverage is light and the foundation is not buildable, because is soooo thin, and it keeps moving when you want to add more.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This foundation is only for people with Dry to Normal Skin.
This foundation is not best to be used in hot weather, since sweating makes you look very very dewy.
*after 30 minutes of application, that’s why I look so grumpy 😉
I didn’t noticed this foundation to improve my skin texture, but to show my pores more than before using a foundation. Using a primer doesn’t make a difference with this foundation.
I really like the glass container and the shades provided, but this foundation is more an elixir rather than an actual foundation. I see myself using it more in the cold seasons, but I definitely don’t see myself to repurchase it. I don’t like a foundation to move with every application, rub off with every touch, and besides, not covering much and even show all my imperfections. Is it affordable??? Yes, but I would hold on my money and buy a real foundation!
