When I transitioned to clean ingredients makeup,I discovered there are not to many brands on the market, that create clean eyeshadows, but one of them is Zao Organic Makeup, and I finally get to try one of their latest makeup palettes, Clin D’oeil 2, which means Wink, since I googled it up 😉
The name of the Palette was quite surprising to me, a French word for an Italian brand, very hard to pronounce, and really unnecessary!
I’m in love with the simple bamboo case design, featuring a big mirror, and magnetic removable eyeshadows. It is very sleek, not to heavy, and is travel friendly.
The palette has 10 eyeshadows, and I only found this palette available to buy on the UK website, for £52.00, which is about $64 at current currency. On the website, there is also an option to buy the eyeshadows individually at £5.95, so for the full palette, you get a small discount.
Each eyeshadow weights 1.3 g and comparing to their round eyeshadow refills, these are more expensive.

This palette has neutrals, warm tone and also cool tone eyeshadows, so is very versatile and you can create really a ton of makeup looks.
Do use your fingers to get a high metallic effect, or a brush for a more subtle look. These eyeshadows can’t be applied with a wet brush, since the base is an oil. You also need to prime your eyelids if they are really dry, so the eyeshadow will adhere easily. I found the brush in the palette to be useless, but I will definitely use it with other eyeshadows I have from Zao.
